3 PIECES-VIBES OF TRUTH

3 PIECES
Vibes of truth
fantasy records
1975

A great little album of jazz funk -- and the only record by this group!

The 3 Pieces may not have lasted long in the record business, but this rare album from 1975 has made them legends on the rare groove scene for years. The record was cut during the height of the jazz funk years at Fantasy Records --

and it features Donald Byrd handling the production chores, in a similar manner to the style that he used with the more famous Blackbyrds, who were also recording for Fantasy the time.

The record features loads of electric piano and ARP, plus some tight and smooth guitar, and a nice rolling groove that is very catchy. A number of tracks have vocals -- in kind of a subdued soul mode -- and tracks include the groove classics "Backed Up Against The Wall", "Shortnin Bread", "Concrete Jungle", and "Vibes Of Truth".

And believe it or not, there aren't any vibes on the album!

ENJOY!!!

This is one of those albums when you have finished listening to it you say WOW, then play it all over again.

Many thanks for this superb album, pity they only did the one album, it rocks big time.

Hi, Milk. Many thanks for your kind answer to my request, but I confirm : when I try to extract the USE ME file, a password is required.Perhaps your friend Max could lend me a helping hand? Thanks again, Stéphane from french guiana.

I just downloaded it and unzipped it...there is no password on the file..

Max provided the album, but i re-tagged & re-zipped it before uploading it ..

if you already tried re-downloading the file (your file may be corrupted)

i suggest using a different program to un-zip it...

but i can say with 100% certainty,..there is no password on that file...

as you can see no one else asked about a password for it...

Hi there

I grabbed this, and man it smokes. Lovely. After one listen I was humming tunes. Nice. Thanks so much for all the tunes...

Particularly dug the first two tracks and the last one. Back up against the wall is masterful. Virtue has a real swagger, and harmonics that remind me of a young joe jackson.

And a note to the music industry: as a result of this listen, I have placed an order for a new vinyl copy. Get wise, RIAA!
