DAVID AXELROD
The Warner Reprise Sessions
OK..OK!! I'll throw you one more...maybe i'll throw up the electric prune albums, a few Cannonball adderly's, or the Hampton Hawes album later on...
but for now..this treat will hold you over..
ALL INSTRUMENTALS of some Electric prune joints!!
from the 3rd & 4th albums and the Pride album..what is Pride??
Well the Pride album is not really a band project at all, but rather a front for David Axelrod. Apparently his manager got an urge to fabricate and promote a non-existent group
Anyway the Prunes released two albums in 1967: The Electric Prunes: I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night) and Underground.
They broke up in 1968 while recording the third album, Mass in F Minor, produced by David Axelrod who completed the album using session musicians and a Canadian band, The Collectors.
And a fourth album, Release of an Oath, was released in 1968, also produced by David Axelrod, with session musicians backing up the vocals by The Electric Prunes.
ENJOY!!!

Axelrod is the man!!! his music is and always will be amazing! such a shame that rappers keep stealing his music though!
